Martinelli, Kolo Muani, Elanga: Worst player at every Premier League club in 2025/26
Jason Soutar Will Hughes, Gabriel Martinelli and Federico Chiesa
Using WhoScored’s average match ratings, here is the worst-performing player at each Premier League club this season.
We can’t be saying some bench fodder is a club’s worst player, so you can only qualify if you’ve started at least 12games this season – or featured in at least 22?games.
This is updated weekly based on WhoScored ratings and is accurate as of matchday 30. Here we go.
Arsenal worst player 2025/26: Gabriel Martinelli (6.40)
Loves the cups. Doesn’t love the league.
Aston Villa worst player 2025/26: Lamare Bogarde (6.13)
Bogarde’s versatility makes him a solid option for Emery, but that is a brutal average match rating.
Bournemouth worst player 2025/26: David Brooks (6.39)
Not a bad average match rating, really. Brooks has one goal and two assists in 24 Premier League matches.
Brentford worst player 2025/26: Rico Henry (6.28)
Henry’s rating isn’t great and he is currently injured.
Brighton worst player 2025/26: Carlos Baleba (6.38)
His failed transfer to Manchester Unitedhas clearly had a detrimental effect on Baleba’s form, and he is playing his way out of his dream move.
Burnley worst player 2025/26: Loum Tchaouna (6.19)
Burnley are surely down and out. Stranger things have happened, though.
Chelsea worst player 2025/26: Andrey Santos (6.40)
Santos has started 10 times this term but has zero goal involvements and has been fairly underwhelming.
Crystal Palace worst player 2025/26: Will Hughes (6.35)
Palace probably deserve someone with an even worse rating to fairly represent their rubbish season.
Everton worst player 2025/26: Thierno Barry/Beto (6.44)
This is amazing. Beto has started 11 and come off the bench 19 times. Barry has started 19 and come off the bench 11 times. Both have a 6.44 average match rating. Both have a 60.5 pass completion percentage. It’s a shame Barry has two more goals, but he has played over 500 more minutes.
Fulham worst player 2025/26: Josh King (6.24)
King’s rating is harsh considering how much he has impressed. But the algorithm doesn’t lie.
Leeds United worst player 2025/26: Lucas Perri (6.30)
No disrespect to Karl Darlow, but being dropped for Karl Darlow isn’t ideal, is it?
Liverpool worst player 2025/26: Federico Chiesa (6.23)
Chiesa qualifies. Just. He has only started once, but has come off the bench a ridiculous 21 times. Arne Slot obviously hates Italians.
Manchester City worst player 2025/26: Tijjani Reijnders (6.68)
There are no better rated players here.
Manchester United worst player 2025/26: Leny Yoro (6.39)
Not a guaranteed starter anymore when everyone is fit, but Yoro is doing just fine deputising for Lisandro Martinez.
Newcastle United worst player 2025/26: Anthony Elanga (6.28)
A £55m transfer fee is not aging well.
Nottingham Forest worst player 2025/26: Dan Ndoye (6.41)
After winning their first game under Vitor Pereira, in the Europa League, Forest have won none, lost four and drawn two. Another managerial change, is it, Mr Marinakis?
Ndoye’s rating would be slightly better if not for the tiniest of offsides against Fulham.
Sunderland worst player 2025/26: Wilson Isidor (6.31)
Isidor did a decent job leading the line at the start of the season but is now playing back-up to Brian Brobbey. And Eliezer Mayenda apparently.
Tottenham Hotspur worst player 2025/26: Randal Kolo Muani (6.33)
Only one goal in 22 matches is very poor. It did come against Arsenal. But Spurs lost 4-1 that day.
West Ham worst player 2025/26: Callum Wilson (6.33)
Scored the winner against Spurs. Nothing else matters.
Wolves worst player 2025/26: Hwang Hee-chan (6.17)
Wolves, as a collective, were an abomination until it was too late to save themselves. We’ll hardly be pinning it all on Hwang.
Relegation is guaranteed for a club with 14 points from 30 Premier League games. It would be the greatest of escapes.
