Two Man Utd transfers on footballdeadline day ‘possible’ after Carrick ‘never say never’ claim

Man Utd could reportedly see one player in and one player out on transfer deadline day after Michael Carrick insisted “never say never”.
The Red Devils have been in great form under interim boss Carrick after the former midfielder took the job last month until the end of the season.
Carrick has won all of his first three matches in charge of Man Utd, including a last-gasp 3-2 win over Fulham over the weekend, and he’ll be hoping to get the job on a permanent basis after being sacked by Middlesbrough earlier this season.
Man Utd spent over £200m on five new players in the summer transfer market with Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko, Diego Leon and Senne Lammens all arriving.
The Red Devils concentrated on bringing in new attackers after they were the fifth lowest scoring side in the Premier League last season.
Many fans thought it was a huge oversight to not sign a midfielder in the summer transfer window and there were rumours that they could invest in January.

It now seems that Man Utd will keep their powder dry until next summer with the Red Devils looking at a longer term approach to the transfer market.
When asked if the Red Devils could do any business before the transfer deadline on Monday, Carrick told reporters: “To be honest, we’re just working through it.
“Never say never, of course because a lot can happen and situations can be thrown up sometimes.
“Sometimes it’s something that’s out of our control that we’ve got to deal with.

“We’re calm. We’ve shown what we’re capable of doing as a team and we’ll just have to see what the?next?few days bring, but I’m calm about it.”
Journalist?Chris Winterburn has revealed that it’s unlikely Man Utd will do any ‘big business’ on Monday but insisted that there is a “possibility” of a loan deal out the club, while the Red Devils could also pounce on any market opportunities for players on their ‘recruitment list’.
Winterburn wrote on X: ‘Anyway… onto the boring stuff. Don’t expect any big business from Manchester United tomorrow. There is a possibility a squad full back is loaned, but the list is slim. Can’t rule out a player on the recruitment list for future is brought forward if a good deal, but it’ll be quiet.’
It certainly seems feasible that Man Utd could make a purchase now for the summer with Sky Germanyreporter Florian Plettenberg confirming on Sunday night that the Red Devils attempted to ‘hijack’ Liverpool’s deal for Jeremy Jacquet.
